To meet the needs of the market, increasingly attentive to sustainability, Boffetti S.p.A. has launched a process aimed at analyzing the life cycle of some electrical equipment manufactured in the production unit of Chignolo d'Isola (BG), through the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) methodology.
The LCA study is drawn up to support the drafting of a type III Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), compliant with the ISO 14025 Standard.
All the analysis were conducted with the LCA methodology, in accordance with the requirements of the international standards for life cycle assessment currently in force: UNI ISO 14040, UNI ISO 14044, according to the EPD Italy scheme and the EN 50693:2019 Standard, and ISO 14067:2018 "Greenhouse gases - Product carbon footprint - Quantification requirements and guidelines".

These studies are aimed at:
- carrying out a quantitative assessment of the environmental impacts of the equipment in question;
- identifying the phases of the product life cycle and the materials that have the most environmental impacts, in order to identify possible areas for improvement of the greenhouse gas emissions of this product.

The study is designed to be aimed at Business customers (B2B). Furthermore, given that the results of these analysis are aimed at the creation of the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD Program: EPD Italy), the study is aimed at all stakeholders interested in environmental and sustainability issues.

The advantages of these environmental certifications are:
- Carbon footprint and EPD allow the environmental value of the products that the company offers on the market to be communicated in a precise and transparent manner;
- the EPD certification, better known as Environmental Product Declaration, is one of the most useful certifications for declaring the environmental quality of our products;
- the EPD certifications positively influences the choices of designers and consumers looking for products with a lower environmental impact and allows them to fulfill the legal obligations envisaged in terms of environmental sustainability;
- the Environmental Product Declaration allows access to international markets thanks to its immense communicative power, which allows one product to be distinguished and differentiated from others due to its environmental impact.
